Used days exceed calculated accrual. Review the period and leave records; a negative balance does not automatically justify a payroll deduction.
How are the results calculated?
Minimum basis: 21 days per year for the first five years, then 30 per later year. An entered constant contractual entitlement replaces this schedule if it meets the minimum.
Partial-year accrual follows elapsed days in the actual service year, with leave days rounded to two decimal places.
Remaining balance = accrued leave − all leave days used since employment began.
Assumptions and limits
- The estimate uses completed service years plus the fraction of the current service year based on actual days between anniversaries. February 29 becomes February 28 in a non-leap year. The end date is not added and interruptions are not automatically deducted; verify recognized service before settlement.
- Article 109 sets a minimum of 21 annual leave days, rising to 30 after five continuous years. Article 111 addresses payment for unused leave on exit and partial years. This tool does not calculate a cash settlement.
- Used days must cover the entire entered period. Do not add carried leave again because it is already part of accrued leave. The result does not decide carryover approval, expiry or absence adjustments. Check leave records and company policy. If the contractual benefit changed, review those periods separately while preserving the employee’s service seniority.
